Exactly, they said that they stopped collecting documents after the SBI because of missing documents and stuff, that means you got a response on the day of your SBI. Have you gotten any other mail again?
I didn’t get any response on the day of my sbi. Before my interview had started, they asked if I had brought documents. I showed it to them and then started with the sbi. They had asked a few admin questions after the sbi like holiday dates, notice period and so on but they didn’t say anything about the outcome. I got the email with the conditional offer more than 3 weeks later.

I guess our case is different. When did you do your own SBI

Is it true we are not allowed to take annual leave in the first 3 months?
I would like to get this answered as well please. I have holiday planned as well at the end of the year and would like to know if this is possible
You're not allowed to take annual leave during training, although there is some flexibility if things are pre-booked. Time off during the classroom training would be an absolute no-no, time off during the stations training generally isn't a problem but will be dependent on things like availability of other staff. For your first year any holiday booked prior to joining LUL will generally be honoured also - you'll slot into a pre-assigned annual leave rota once you get your stations allocation, and this will be your leave dates going forwards.

If you have any holidays planned on the immediate horizon after joining I would advise both recruitment at the moment and your training manager/HR as soon as possible after starting to be on the safe side.

Hi, is there vast difference between both roles? Or is it more or less the same profile?

CSA1 is a safety critical role, so there's additional medical requirements and training involved there. This includes having more responsibilities during things like station evacuations, as well as platform-based roles such as assisted dispatch, detrainments and SATS (platform duties), plus holding a basic track license. Most of the role is the same when it comes to general station duties, but you'll probably be doing less stuff with ticket machines than as a CSA2. There are also more dead early and dead late shifts reflecting the role's relationship with minimum station staffing numbers.

Is sponsorship available for CSA1 position as initially in the job advert sponsorship was mentioned.

One for HR/Recruitment, I'm afraid. If you're being sponsored into CSA2 I would imagine this would roll forwards, although the changes to the UK's sponsorship salary thresholds have meant that, currently, sponsorship isn't available for either position. It is highly unlikely that CSA1 will be advertised externally any time soon, except for Night Tube.

Sorry not read all the threads . Can you tell me what SBI entails please ?
You get the to do the SBI only if you pass the role play, which would be done on the same day.

If you get to the SBI, you will be sat in a room across from the interviewer and they'll explain a few things to you before you start. You'll be giving a scenario on a sheet of paper and you have 10 minutes to read and prepare(they give you sheets of paper and pens and pencils to do some writing down) how you'll deal with the situation presented, I believe you have 10 minutes for this but I cant remember. Once you've presented, the interviewer will then ask you some questions and you'll have to answer them to the best of your ability. After they've finished asking you questions they'll then tell you it's over and when you should expect to hear if you were successful or not.

Hey all, couple questions:
So I was put on the list for the Feb/March part time CS and haven't heard back yet - did anyone actually get called in for that in the end? I was initially on the wait pool for Night tubes but they seem to not be happening at all so moved to part time when the option came up.
Second question - if while waiting for a start date I apply for other roles within TFL or apply for an apprenticeship on TFL, does that retract my existing CSA job offer?

Welcome! I thought I was the only one waiting like this. I initially applied for the NT position, just like you. Later, I received an email saying that the vacancy wouldn't be opened until mid-2024. However, another CSA role came up for February/March training dates. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything back after that.

I've called them several times for updates, but haven't received any response except a generic one saying the business hasn't confirmed the training dates yet. I've even gotten into arguments on the phone calls, which have ended with them hanging up on me. There seems to be no complaint procedure available. It's been very bad customer service.

@bluegoblin7- Could you provide any information on this topic? I have been waiting for months to hear back, but the TFL Hotline is not helpful at all.

Hello all,
I have a weird question and i would be extremely grateful to get your insights.
I applied for CSA2 and was successful through the AC1. The very next day, I received an email to confirm my appointment for the AC2/AC3 stage, however, it started off with “Congratulations on securing a place for the Customer Service Assistant 1 Full time assessment.” And then they listed off what i can expect on the assessment day.
Could that have been a mistake? Or thats how all invitations are? Am i reading too much into it? Should i give them a call to make sure? Please help!

Hi
I believe the recruitment for night tube (part time) CSA’s are not in demand at the moment, it seems TfL is prioritising full time applicants due to the last few recruitment campaigns they advertised for quite a while. As the full time CSA’s are required to fill the positions, I don’t think TfL will prioritise the night tube applicants to change over to part time day shifts, as it would mean making changes to contracts and hours. And what some of the other posters have stated is that they were offered part time hours between 16:00 to 20:00, 4 hours a day for 4 shifts, which doesn’t really seem feasible if they are already making movements on full time workers.

Also, the TfL contact number you are calling deals with so many calls a day, I can imagine their frustration due to the calls of people attending assessments, waiting for results and recruits who are on the onboarding stage.

Hello,
Almost two weeks after I tracked my application on the xma portal and its still application received. It has not moved to ‘checks sent’
I called reed and they didn’t seem to know the reason for the delay.

What was the start date you selected?

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum, I was wondering if anyone has any recent experience of the role play and SBI at all?

Did you also receive any additional research information other than the PDF that was sent.

Any tips on the role play/SBI will be greatly received.

Many thanks

This has been answered many times recently. Have a quick look over past posts for some great tips that helped me immensely during my interview.

Hi, I’m undergoing my document verification for CSA2 role at TFL. I don’t reside in London but would be moving to London before my said start date. I used my present address outside London when filling the documents sent to me, do you think this is okay? Or should I have used any address in London even though it’s temporary?

As long as all the addresses match up at the moment you should be fine - LU don’t mandate a “live within XX minutes” rule (although it is sensible for fatigue-related reasons).

You can notify your employing manager of a change in address once you start if necessary.

As always, give recruitment a call to be 100% on the safe side - they’re here to help.

Anyone know like which union people should be joining as a new starter?
Effectively, there is only one choice for CSAs, RMT.

Union membership is not compulsory, but I would advise it.

I have been trying to book a date for my documents certification but I keep getting an access denial after clicking on the link. Would give recruitment a call in the morning. Did anyone face anything similar?

Many thanks, I've gone right back to the beginning.
An excellent resource.

If you don't mind me asking, in your scenario based interview did you get asked for any examples of this from your past history at all?

I couldn't see this when scrolling back.

Many thanks.

Yes I did and they wanted specific examples of times where safety was paramount...

Once you pass all the assessments/tests . Then you're in a position where they will offer you a start BUT.... You're not in a position to start on that date . How long will TFL keep a vacancy open for you?

I am on a very similar situation as well. All my checks and references have been completed but they haven't updated the site details yet. I have received my training start date. Can someone confirm whether we will start on the job right away after the training?

Can anyone please confirm if the date shown on the reed pre screening website is your confirmed start date??

Also, I saw a thread saying CSA 1 is based on available vacancies. What are the chances that we will be able to find a spot in CSA1. Are job roles really different? Is the probation period 6 or 12 months ?

Thanks in advance
I also want to know too .. what are the chances to get the Csa 1 slot. Anyone knows ?

As long as you pass probation, avoid any disciplinaries etc it’s almost certain after 12-18 months but I wouldn’t personally be joining the company on the expectation of it happening. Join for CSA2 and all the other opportunities and if/when you get offered CSA1 it’s a nice little bonus.

Hi.
Thankfully I have passed my scenario based interview and have now received my conditional offer.
Regarding being asked for proof of address- for the past few years I have been technically hidden homeless. Meaning I have not had any address of my own but have been moving from place to place constantly.
So the only proof of my current address I could possibly get is a printout from an online bank account.
Will this be acceptable with tfl?
