Hi.
Thankfully I have passed my scenario based interview and have now received my conditional offer.
Regarding being asked for proof of address- for the past few years I have been technically hidden homeless. Meaning I have not had any address of my own but have been moving from place to place constantly.
So the only proof of my current address I could possibly get is a printout from an online bank account.
Will this be acceptable with tfl?
Yes, I sent my bank statement as well.

As long as you pass probation, avoid any disciplinaries etc it’s almost certain after 12-18 months but I wouldn’t personally be joining the company on the expectation of it happening. Join for CSA2 and all the other opportunities and if/when you get offered CSA1 it’s a nice little bonus.
...can you elaborate on 'all the other opportunities'?

And thank you for all of your help on this thread. You've been uber helpful

thanks , I have just received my conditional offer and would take it. I was a bit skeptical if it was worth moving.

Hello , just curious
I live in Leagrave after Luton and use the Thameslink service. how does the season ticket work ? Do I pay from Luton up To boundary zone 6 ? And can I get a season ticket loan from TfL as well?
Thanks

TfL staff passes are only valid on Thameslink from Kentish Town through to Elephant and Castle and London Bridge.

So you would buy a season ticket from your departure station (Luton/Leagrave?) to Kentish Town (and use your staff pass to exit the barriers at eg King's Cross, Farringdon, Blackfriars, etc).

There is a 75% discount on annual season tickets only (not single/weekly/monthly tickets).

[Edit: I'm reminded that TfL now offer 75% reimbursement on a flexible season ticket - which allows 8 days of travel within a 28 day period - ideal for 2 days a week.]

FOI on staff pass use and availability here.

(I'm not knowledgeable enough about season ticket loans other than to say TfL do operate a scheme, however I think they are taxable, and with Thameslink you can avoid the benefit in kind tax by buying the season ticket direct without a loan. Hopefully someone will know more than me.)

They want references from every employer. I made the mistake of leaving one off and now my start has been delayed.

Best for you is to open an HMRC account and check your last three years PAYE earn history, then according to it get the details of the companies that you worked for and provide references for each one of them. They will just confirm with the companies regarding your start and end date, nothing else. If they can't get a response from the companies, then they will ask you to provide history from your HMRC account and your Referencing will be completed

So I take it if they are cross checking it with your hmrc account- then there is no point giving them references for a firm you did cash in hand work for?

Are there any actual start dates out there currently? Still waiting since November to begin onboarding after getting my conditional offer - not done any of the medical/references yet either. Was hoping to start Feb/March but still not heard a thing.
Do conditional offers get withdrawn after a certain amount of time? That's what I'm worried about... :(

I would definitely try and contact them for any update as I got my offer mid March and have completed all onboarding and medical is booked for next week.

Is it the full time position you applied for?

I applied around the same time. And started my training today.

So I would give the recruiters a call or email them and find out more. If they had a problem on their end or maybe on yours it will be good to find out.
They email back swiftly but I'd give them a call just in case.

on a side note, will be in waterloo on my 3rd week. Anyone know what I should be expecting?

Welcome! I thought I was the only one waiting like this. I initially applied for the NT position, just like you. Later, I received an email saying that the vacancy wouldn't be opened until mid-2024. However, another CSA role came up for February/March training dates. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything back after that.

I've called them several times for updates, but haven't received any response except a generic one saying the business hasn't confirmed the training dates yet. I've even gotten into arguments on the phone calls, which have ended with them hanging up on me. There seems to be no complaint procedure available. It's been very bad customer service.

@bluegoblin7- Could you provide any information on this topic? I have been waiting for months to hear back, but the TFL Hotline is not helpful at all.

It's a brutal wait indeed, I know a few others who got NT offers and have heard nothing. At least you're not 'missing out'.

As thread members have said, Night Tube CSA demand is low, hopefully, an internal part-time T/Op role gets advertised soon, as it's nearly been two years since the vacancy came out lol!

That is exactly what I did. And I believe after they make 3 attempts to contact employers for references if they get no response they then use the info on you HMRC

Thank you for your positive feedback. Actually, I called them today, and it seems they've changed their phone system for handling applicants. I was able to speak with an agent who confirmed that the Night Tube is reopening soon and that I should receive training dates in the coming weeks.

This is great news, good to see the telephony system updated - was a pain before.

Feel free to DM me, as we’re in the same boat!

Hi, when is your training start date as I have my training in less than 3 weeks. Also, have you completed your medical if so, how did you get hold of the medical questionnaire. Thank you.

See now I'm worried. I had a conditional offer for NT which I accepted, but then in January they asked for people that were interested moving to the part time role instead for Feb/March. Nothing came of that it seems, but does that now mean because I said I was happy doing the part time I'll now miss the NT position?

I wish things were clearer, it's so stressful - I just wanna work! :frown:

Hi, I start in the 29th. Yes I’ve done my medical, you should have received a email with the questionnaire you just need to print off. I would chase it up because once you have done your medical you have to wait to be cleared. It can delay you start date. Are you cleared with reed.

Have you called them recently about it?

I was considering taking that part-time role, but turned it down.

Guys please, one of my references respondent has been ill and for a week now hasn't replied. I’m considering changing my reference to her deputy do you think this is possible? I can’t use the hmrc bcos it’s ‘self employed’ and I’m just filing my tax returns.

No not too difficult, you'll have wonderful trainers who will go through the whole process and you'll get some people come in from onboarding to other parts of TFL to talk to you for a bit, just a lot of information to process. Not sure how much I can say so will keep it brief, training so far is again 2 weeks at ashfield and then 2 weeks in a station.

I can't remember exactly when, but on day 2 or day 3 week 1, we got to know, so pretty much at the start.
