    Future of the GWR electrification

Amen to that. The 59s certainly aren't getting any younger, and, while FL will probably end up plonking 66/6s or 70s on the front at some point, they'll likely want to start looking at electric haulage east of Westbury in the future, particularly now that the Poplar Curve is due to be wired. I...

    MML Electrification: progress updates

You're lucky that you even have diversionary routes! The South Wales Valleys (by and large), along with Barrhead/East Kilbride, haven't had that luxury. At least Syston-Trent Jn should be able to make use of the 4-track arrangement, reducing the number of closed lines during most possessions...

    MML Electrification: progress updates

Afraid to say I wasn't able to get a decent enough view from the road to the south; Story's have firmly plonked themselves at the entrance to the field. It did look a hive of activity when I was there, however!

    MML Electrification: progress updates

Most likely something to do with a crossover overrun or future proofing. In possession related news today, I managed to get a look-in on the works from Kettering to Kibworth. The 'portable gatehouse' is still in place on the byway leading to Kettering North SATS from the road, so I didn't see...

    Future of the GWR electrification

IIRC, something to do with a heritage objection raised by Wilts Council regarding the viaduct immediately west of the station. That said, it all happened such a while ago that what I've written is probably just conjecture.

I haven't heard any more since the trial - IIRC all the Azuma Depots, along with Temple Mills, are so equipped.

    MML Electrification: progress updates

Not exactly - that was undertaken in one of the sidings proper, with no physical connection to the conventional OLE. But yes, right (general) location.

    MML Electrification: progress updates

Not sure if anyone's been aware of this, but the electrified Up Siding at Wellingborough has been PES'd (turned into a Permanently Earthed Section) since at least 27/05/2023 (as far as the isolation diagrams are concerned), possibly since the wires went up.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

Permanently Earthed Section. I assume, if they did do it, it would be similar to the arrangements currently being installed in South Wales.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

This would seem to be the approximate area of the new Mossley Station. I don't think I'm the only one taking issue with the Tameside Correspondent's description of a "Neutral Section" - a PES seems a lot more likely.

    MML Electrification: progress updates

IIRC the Portal installation is a separate, condition-based scope of works for the headspans which aren't as long for this world as others.
