Something I've long wondered, do Volvo make chassis in Sweden, send them to MCV in Egypt for bodying, then ship the complete vehicle back to Europe? How does this make sense?
Looks like a less optimal location. I understand the horn was moved on the Aventras (which originally had horn grills) to make room for end gangways, but this wouldn't be necessary on a freight locomotive.
Had they quoted a more realistic cost and build schedule, they would not have won the contract. That's the nature of competitive tendering, you can only win if you promise the impossible.
