Reliability of TER 18544 Chambery to Lyon

I have used that service twice in the last 4 years with no problem.

    postal requisition TFL

This is their normal practice. It means that you only need to mention that single conviction when you are asked. Fortunately it seems you are being prosecuted under the Byelaws - the conviction will be "spent" after one year, and it is very unlikely to appear an Enhanced DBS check.

TLF letter May 24 - fare evasion

The whole paragraph about your work can go - it will cut no ice.

Chiltern- being booted off at Wembley!

Except that the loco is at the country end and the depot (assuming there was a spare loco) is at the London end. Not impossible, but a slight shunting challenge.

Chiltern- being booted off at Wembley!

Seems to have been removed inside 30min - it's a good place to fail, with the turnback siding and the depot! Looking at RTT I imagine one or more following trains stopped to rescue the passengers.

    Where is this?

The down signal is also visible in the 3rd photo behind the 4th coach. Thanks - though I think your hesitation about the last is justified :)

Ideas for getting back from Barcelona to Paris

Probably a 446, from which the 447 was developed - reasonable on the relatively short coastal run, but I had one from PortBou a good 10 years ago which didn't amuse the family.

Should gateline staff be prevented from seeing “scan in” data of etickets

The person concerned seems to have been stopped by RPIs not gateline staff. RPIs should certainly be able to check whether a ticket has been scanned.

    New Station for Okehampton

    Precisely, hence calling it Interchange.

Boarding a TfW rail replacement bus without a ticket

Do they even check tickets on RRBs? If the machine doesn't take cash then a PtP is perfectly in order. It fits the NRE description and is the obvious one. Both RRBs are through from Holyhead - there's engineering work West of Llandudno Jn but why they are running through to Chester I can't...

How could heritage railways encourage more visitors to arrive by public transport?

But that still leaves the other reasons why the through fares aren't cost-effective for the customer or the railway.

Can't match this Trainline ticket elsewhere

It doesn't specify "an off-peak ticket." The OP is travelling after 0945/1000 which are presumably Off-Peak times. The Anytime is obviously a valid ticket at that time, and IMO TL is correct. The problem would be with using the £2 tickets at "peak" times, if TL failed to warn customers of the...

    Where is this?

I agree, having pretty much come to that conclusion in #31 (he says modestly) :) It was a very simple affair, as the diagram shows https://www.s-r-s.org.uk/html/gwe/S839.htm A classic "section breaking" box that would eventually have been replaced by Intermediate Block Signals (especially as...

Please help — Stopped at Farringdon w/ valid ticket

Just a small point which may explain - but certainly does not excuse - the suspicion of the RPIs: the Anytime DAY Return from Crawley to London TL is twice the price of that from Gatwick! Presume something to do with Oyster?

    TFL Verification Letter

Unfortunately, TfL are not known for offering to settle out of court, but they do sometimes agree to a warning letter as quoted by the OP. Agreed.

West Anglia main line local between Cheshunt and Tottenham hale

You can only run 3tph to Bromley N with the one unit, and offpeak it's probably better to stick with 2tph as the main line has 4tph except in the morning peak.

Winning friends and influencing people Network Rail style. Using other people's property/causing prolonged disruption, legal threats, no agreed compo

At Lilac Court there looks to be sufficient railway land opposite to avoid demolishing houses - opposite Glenfield Ave there is an industrial building which abuts railway property which presumably makes additional land take undesirable (aka expensive).

    New Station for Okehampton

Bradford Interchange was/is so called because of the interchange possibilities via the bus station adjacent. There is hardly any need to interchange between trains (whereas at Bristol Parkway there is!). I can see Devon's point in wishing to promote interchange with buses over car parking -...

    Where is this?

Picking up on the Exminster location, and on Andy 873's point that the road/railway continues level: 1. both Milbury Lane and Bridge Road have girder bridges. The former is a country lane, the latter was by then the original Exeter Bypass which might explain the lesser gradient. The train would...

    Sunday Service Paddington to Bath

But how many? Professionally I have always needed to be out and about well before 10 on Sundays, and everywhere I have ever lived has been pretty dead at that time - it's not just the absence of public transport causing that. (A random memory from 50 years ago - City of Oxford decided to...
