    Interesting idea. Against, the scale would be cramped at 20 mph, so harder to read.

    I once reached 56 mph on a long downhill. That was a touring bike, not a racer with skinny tyres. (It was a wide straight road with no potholes or side turnings.)

    A friend bought similar sleepers. The eventual conclusion was that their markers were year and/or type of wood. It looks like they can have multiple meanings.

    The proposed ban, as linked in post #66, would apply to: (c) would be a bit of a nuisance. Cigarette papers are handy as very thin shims for model engineering. Rizla Blue are very close to 0.001". I note there would be a statutory defence that would cover this.

    Unlike QWERTY, there is no consistent standard ABC layout. There might be two rows, or three, or four, or five. Or even a hybrid as below. Every machine with ABC is a game of 'spot the layout'.
