    Ashley Down station construction updates

New stations are always a positive thing to be welcomed, but I would be interested to know what is the target market? As far as I can see it is located in a low density housing area and has no obvious destination appeal other than the college. As a point of origin, to where will people travel...

    December 2023 Timetable Change

The bulk of the Network Rail Dec 2023 NRT tables are now available for preview here https://timetables.fabdigital.uk/nrt/dec2023/ There are only about 30 left to do which are the ones where the data is still in a state of flux, or not available at all, and mainly affects Northern and...

    December 2023 Timetable Change

It isnt for anyone at NR to anticipate this, it is my job as the contracted editor and I am on the case of what will be required in due time. The reason that Normanton and Sherburn in Elmet are not in the station bank is because no service has a public time at them, all times are currently shown...

    Swanley

because that table in isolation is not the one with the full service from Swanley to London, nor is table 3a

    Taxi 'improvements' at Winchester

Same thing at Torquay. Arrived there last Saturday afternoon, went to front of station for a taxi, none on 'rank'. The word Taxi still clearly painted on road surface but covered over on overhead sign. Assumed because a trainload had just arrived that they had all gone off, so with others...

The WTT in its new form

I am the creator/editor of the NRT, within Fabrik, on behalf of Network Rail. That product is independent of the WTT for which Fabrik have no brief nor responsibility as the two are unconnected. I will look into why you have not received a reply from Fabrik, however it would simply repeat what I...

    Visiting El Caminito del Rey

That will be one very long hot day in July, the platform cafe has little shade, be prepared to take refuge in the hotel bar opposite!

    Visiting El Caminito del Rey

This is local to where I live and an extremely popular adventure. I havent done the walk yet, but have driven to the area a few times and the views are stunning. RENFE recently improved the service levels to el Chorro (dont expect anything like UK frequencies) and you have a choice of what is...

    May 2023 changes

The edit is now closed, the files are final for the moment and are the same files that will appear on Network Rail's own website in due course. Any ongoing changes will be processed as part of the weekly updates https://timetables.fabdigital.uk/nrt/may2023/

    May 2023 changes

Indeed, with TOCS posting endless revisions every night it would be a pointless task creating the tables only to have to do them again, for example the Chiltern mainline is now on its 3rd iteration and TFW are posting endless revisions, although it does seem to have now settled down! As an...

Should the Stocksbridge Line be saved now for passenger use, before it is too late?

i think it was, it was a long time ago now, cant find any evidence online about it

Should the Stocksbridge Line be saved now for passenger use, before it is too late?

ok, lets agree to disagree, shame we cant ask any residents of Stocksbridge and Deepcar whether the Wicker is an acceptable destination to be put off when most of them would have had to drive/walk/bus/taxi/cycle at the start of their journey

Should the Stocksbridge Line be saved now for passenger use, before it is too late?

you, and many others, are so desperately trying to reopen Victoria station at all costs, including diverting Worksop services into it to further justify it (to hell with connections to the rest of the rail network), that it is overshadowing all reason now.

Should the Stocksbridge Line be saved now for passenger use, before it is too late?

There is zero justification for having a new Victoria station, or for letting the idea drive any ideas or plans. The location, as it was when it was open, is not remotely near to the commercial heart of the city. You can justifiably scoop people up at the start of the journey by bus, car, taxi...

Should the Stocksbridge Line be saved now for passenger use, before it is too late?

I know, I am from there. This RAIL exhibition was back in the day when the Huddersfield line was threatened with closure throughout and my question to them was 'will Penistone feature in your RAIL plans?'. It was nothing to do with tramlines, but heavy rail. It was a great presentation, lots of...
