Failed points nr Carstairs, 28/12

I'm currently on 1S66, which has been sitting just north of Carstairs since about 1705, when we were told a train was crossing in front of us. After this had happened, we were told said train had knackered the points, and we're now awaiting network rail engineers.

Any further tidbits?

Guard has been great, by the way.

324 points (down/up crossover Carstairs South Jn) failed no reverse, nothing to do with the passage of the previous train. Unable to divert 1S66 via Carstairs station and east Jn due to no route knowledge. 1S66 sitting south, not north, of Carstairs by the way..

In circumstances like this can't help feeling there should be a Rule Book provision for being "talked through" by a Traction Inspector or similar.

Ah, I've confused Carstairs with Lockerbie!

Just taken off, saw the orange wearers pointing torches at the track so hopefully it'll be all systems go from here - and a full refund from delay repay.
