I will be travelling from Letchworth to Church Stretton on a Friday.
The off peak return £100.30 has validity 9I which states there are no restrictions from Euston on Fridays.

I can get an itinerary on several sites using the 0910 Euston to Crewe. Train split will give one for the 0907 Euston-Crewe which is the Liverpool service that I will aim for as it should be quieter than the 0910 Glasgow service.

Is there a reason I can’t see an itinerary for the 0846 LNWR Euston to Crewe service? Is the Friday easement only for Avanti services? This a backup option if the above 2 Avanti trains are disrupted.

Also I was looking at possibly using the 0822 Euston to Birmingham international and change to the Aberystwyth train and again at Shrewsbury. Partly as the TfW service to Church Stretton is likely to be only 2 coaches. Trainsplit only offers a higher fare, splitting at either Finsbury Park or underground zone 1/2. Both have the same restriction code 9I. Is the off-peak return from Letchworth valid on this service?
I did notice something about a restriction on departures from SteVenage so is that the reason the through fare does not come up? I would use the 0704 from Letchworth which doesn’t stop at Stevenage anyway. For the 0907 Euston to Crewe I would use the 0751 Letchworth to St Pancras which also calls at Stevenage so it sure why this comes up but using the 0822 Eus-BHI doesn’t .
Though I thought that Stevenage restrictions only applied going northbound on ECML rather than into London to go from a different terminal such as Euston?

Thanks.

There is an electronic restriction preventing the retailing of tickets on West Midlands Trains operated services (including both their LNR and WMR brands) at the following times:

Not valid to depart
any location
0430–0929
on WEST MIDLANDS TRAINS

This is not contractually enforceable, so if you buy the ticket for a different train, you are allowed to travel on the 0822 WMT (LNR brand) train.

The contractual restrictions are as follows:
Not valid on trains timed to depart:
  • London Euston after 04:29 and before 09:26 or after 15:00 and before 18:45 (Restrictions do not apply on Fridays)
  • London Kings Cross after 02:59 and before 09:06 or after 14:59 and before 18:59 (and before 18:15 on Fridays);
  • London Liverpool Street after 04:29 and before 09:31 or after 16:28 and before 18:35;
  • London Marylebone after 06:29 and before 09:00 or after 16:00 and before 19:00;
  • London Paddington after 04:29 and before 08:10 or after 16:40 and before 18:31;
  • London St Pancras International after 04:29 and before 10:26 or after 15:15 and before 18:59;
  • London Waterloo after 04:29 and before 08:15;
  • Kensington Olympia after 04:29 and before 09:15 or after 15:14 and before 18:12;
  • Clapham Junction after 04:29 and before 09:30;
  • Bedford after 04:29 and before 09:01;
  • Luton or Luton Airport Parkway after 04:29 and before 09:01 or after 16:29 and before 18:59;
  • Milton Keynes Central after 04:29 and before 09:51;(Restrictions do not apply on Fridays)
  • Reading after 04:29 and before 08:35 or after 17:10 and before 19:01;
  • Stevenage after 02:59 and before 09:19 or after 15:06 and before 19:01 (and before 18:35 on Fridays);
  • Stratford (London) after 04:29 and before 09:30 or after 16:29 and before 18:34;
  • Watford Junction after 04:29 and before 09:38 or after 15:00 and before 18:38.(Restrictions do not apply on Fridays)

The fare is set by Avanti, so you could write to them asking them to fix this data error; I'd be very interested to hear their response! They might just fix it...

Thanks.
I have booked with a reservation on the 0907 Euston to Crewe. The 0846 LNR service from Euston is the backup option.
I’ll contact Avanti and see what they say.
