After the removal of 507011 and 507015, there will be nine units staying until further notice.

Alleleys were returning 2 carriages of 507 028 last night. I passed them at around 1930hrs on the M6 northbound round Hilton Park services. Apparently these are the units for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for training purposes.

There was a train fault with 507018+507001 last night on 2042 Southport-Hunts Cross between Ainsdale and Freshfields driver had to stop and reset them so we lost 8 minutes. Ran fast Central to Hunts Cross

Guessing yesterdays issues were with 001 then as 018 back out today according to post above.

5T62 due off Kirkdale 08.10

:edit: having said this it does seem to tie in with a 5T61 coming down from Southport (001?) So who knows!

507010 (north end) and 029: 2U01, 2S04, 2U11, 2S14, 2U21, 2S24, 2U31, 2S34, 2U41, 2S44, 2U51, 2S55, 2U61, 2S65, 2U70 and 5D70.
New Brighton line:
507018 : 2N02, 05, 09, 13,17,21, 25, 29, 33, 37, 41, 45, 49 and 5D39.

I've spent many afternoons sat in the Beer Garden of The Railway pub next to Formby station listening to the sound of the 507/508 units as they approach or depart from the station on their way to/from Southport. Recently this experience has not quite been the same with the 777s taking over this route, and in a couple of months it will be a distant memory. I can recommend this location if you want the same experience (but not on Sundays as I gather it is now the 507s day off ).
This experience was also possible at The Hightown pub, but unfortunately that pub is currently closed due to change of ownership.
Does anyone know of any other locations on the Merseyrail network were this might (or even used to) be possible?

Interestingly, it looks like one or two paired 507s might be making a Sunday comeback on the Southport line later. The 507s which formed 2S63 (007 and 023 if they stuck to diagrams) have remained in platform 1 at Southport rather than move into the wall siding as they normally would. The good weather always brings out the crowds so the capacity will be required.

'Beer Station' - by Freshfield station, providing you sit at one of the outside tables. See and hear the level crossing operaton too, so you know when a train's imminent. Link to 'WhatPub' site here.

I saw 011/015 at Buckley and all I can give you is it was 37800 and it was 507011 and 507016
