We leave the railway station and walk to the adjacent bus stop where we next board the 1240 The Keighley Bus Company service 72 to Linton (Fountain Inn on Lauradale Lane) that arrives there at 1300 on Saturday afternoon.

With no other bus routes available and only four service 72 journeys serving here we decide the only option is to return on the 13.19 service alighting at Skipton, Market Place at 13.40 on Saturday.

We take the six minute walk to the bus station and board the 1410 Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire service 280 to Preston (Bus Station), arriving there at 1606 on Saturday afternoon.

That's it for the rest of the night as far as I can tell, so we return in the morning to the bus stop outside the station and board the 0756 Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire service X1 to Bromborough (The Cross), arriving there at 0852 on Sunday morning.

We next board the 0859 Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire service 38A to Carr Houses (the bus stop opposite Greenfield Kennels on Birkenhead Road) that arrives there at 1014 on Sunday morning.

I have just remembered that the other bus service, the Arriva Merseyside service 407 only calls at Carr Houses there on Monday to Saturdays...not on Sundays.....

Again there is only the 38A available and just out of range of the railway station so we cross the road for the 11.44 service alighting at Bidston Station at 11.53 on Sunday.

After an hour taking in the scenery at Penyffordd station, we then board the TfW train in an hour's time (1408) onward to Wrexham General, arriving 1428 (Sunday).

Moving away from the Merseyside/North Wales region, we take the eight minute/0.4 mile walk to Wrexham General and board the 1551 Transport for Wales service 1I16 to Birmingham International, arriving there at 1752 on Sunday afternoon.

We next take the 18.13 CrossCountry service to Bournemouth alighting at Oxford at 19.13 on Sunday.

Moving away from the Merseyside/North Wales region, we take the eight minute/0.4 mile walk to Wrexham General and board the 1551 Transport for Wales service 1I16 to Birmingham International, arriving there at 1752 on Sunday afternoon.

We were already at Wrexham General, but otherwise that was a good move to Birmingham international!
